Reef safe - Reef safe is a somewhat arbitrary distinction used in the saltwater aquarium industry to indicate that a fish or invertebrate is safe to add to a reef tank. Many animals can be considered mostly harmless, but relatively few that are commonly available to the industry are completely safe to add to a tank that contains corals or other reef animals.
Protein skimmer - A protein skimmer, also known as a foam fractionator is a device used mostly in saltwater aquariums to help remove pollutants from the tank water before they may break down into nitrogenous waste. It is a standard piece of equipment in modern saltwater fish tanks, the benefits of such systems are highly published.
Berlin Method - The Berlin Method of biological filtration is method for keeping an aquarium, typically a saltwater aquarium, clean. It is basically the use of ample live rock (rock with live marine organisms on or in it) in a refugium or tank.
Cruiser tank - The cruiser tank (also called cavalry tank or fast tank) was a British tank design concept of the inter-war period. This concept was the driving force behind several tank designs which saw action during the Second World War.
